Our Mission & History

In 2013, Igor Zhuk discovered a Bible school in Philadelphia and proposed the idea to the local church's leadership. The leadership embraced the idea, and in the summer of 2014, the Slavic Teen Bible School was launched under the Slavic Pentecostal Church. Over the years, the school evolved, refining its programs to better serve students, and in 2017 it was officially renamed Summer Teen Bible School.

That same year, David Bushmich joined STBS to lead the prayer ministry, guiding students in daily prayer and offering personal counseling, creating a spiritually supportive and nurturing environment.

Tovia Zichenko, a seasoned missionary pastor with extensive experience serving in Russia, brought practical insight and wisdom to the school and joined the board in 2021. In 2022, Alex Sidorevich, an ordained deacon dedicated to youth ministry, joined the board, bringing vision, energy, and a strong commitment to guide the school’s growth Today, Alex serves as head of the Bible School, guiding its mission with dedication and heart. In 2024, his wife, Galina Sidorevich, joined the board as parent liaison, strengthening the connection between the school and its families.

For over a decade, STBS has remained steadfast in its mission: to help teenagers understand God’s Word, grow in Christian values, and develop a personal relationship with Christ. The school guides students to pursue spiritual growth, embrace a life of service, and deepen their knowledge of the Bible. Teens are encouraged to get involved in their church and community, serve others with compassion, build meaningful friendships with peers who share their faith, gain confidence in ministry, and live lives of spiritual maturity, purpose, and faith-driven victory.
